Brand Guidelines
This document is a draft pending legal review.
Operating entity: to be confirmed.
These guidelines describe what MOWJ expects from brands and agencies. Creators do better work, and campaigns run more smoothly, when the brand side is clear, fair and prompt.
1Write clear briefs
State the objective, the product, the audience, the deliverables, the dates and the requirements. List mandatory messages, prohibited claims, disclosures, usage rights and exclusivity before work starts, not at the review stage.
2Offer specific and fair terms
Make offers with structured terms: amount, deliverables, dates, usage rights, exclusivity and revision limit. Fees should match the scope you ask for, including the rights and exclusivity. Do not ask for broad rights without saying so.
3Respect the creator's time and process
- Give feedback within the time you agreed.
- Keep requests for changes within the revision limit, or negotiate more.
- Be specific about what needs to change and why.
4Be accurate about claims
Do not ask creators to make claims that are false, misleading or that you cannot support. Provide substantiation where a claim needs it. Make sure that disclosure requirements are in the brief. The applicable rules can change, so check current requirements with the relevant authority and your counsel.
5Respect usage rights and exclusivity
Use creator content only in the ways, places and periods that were agreed. If you want to go further, negotiate an extension first.
6Pay directly, on time, and record it
You pay creators directly, outside the platform. Pay on the agreed schedule and update the payment status, adding the reference or receipt. The platform does not hold funds and cannot pay creators for you.
7Handle creator information responsibly
Creator profiles and your private notes are for running your campaigns. Do not scrape the platform, export other people's data in bulk or use creator information for unrelated purposes.
8Agencies
An agency must be authorised to act for each client it adds and should keep each client's campaigns scoped to that client. The agency is responsible for how its team members use the workspace.
9The platform fee
Marketplace campaigns carry a standard platform fee of 10% unless a different policy is shown before you commit. The fee, who bears it and any applicable taxes appear in the campaign budget. Only the platform fee can be paid online, through a payment gateway's hosted checkout.
10Report problems
If something goes wrong, raise it early with the creator and, if needed, use the Dispute Process.
